I've dealt with some "families" like that. Worthless wastes of oxygen is the kindest way I can describe such people.

These types tend to be rather nuts plus have issues like drug addiction (primarily pills and meth) and shady means of income (theft, scamming, begging, selling pills, etc)...they get kicked out of section 8 housing and fleabag motels and then they hit the road.

The ones I dealt with didn't start a fight but I was always prepared for the possibility...glad I never had to fight a brawl with a bunch of them.

They did not respect their authority.

Some interesting details in these links, if you pick up on it:

Quote
The incident began when a female Walmart employee tried to use a women's restroom and was prevented from doing so when she was pushed out of the way.

Why?, one might ask.  Well...

Quote
Nathan Gaver told police that his mother, Ruth, was using the restroom, and that he and his brother Jeremiah were guarding it.

WT...?

Quote
He said seven members of the Idaho family were arrested, in addition to the man who was killed.

Eight total, unless there's some little ones about.

Quote
Moore said the family had been living in a Chevrolet Suburban parked in the Walmart parking lot for a couple of days. Police had some minor dealings with family members previously.

(At least) eight folks living in a Suburban, parked in a WM parking lot.  Momma so special, she has to get exclusive use of the WM wimmin's room.  Just "interesting".

I suspect more weirdness is forthcoming.

Anyone figure out why the family members were punching each other as well
It is much more powerful to seek Truth for one's self.  Seeing and hearing that others seem to have found it can be a motivation.  With me, I was drawn because of much error and bad judgment on my part. Confronting one's own errors and bad judgment is a very life altering situation.  Confronting the errors and bad judgment of others is usually hypocrisy.

I don't think they were. There was one big kid in a tee shirt who seems to have been a Wal-Mart employee.

I would bet the mother was bathing in the restroom.  Just a guess though.

I tend to agree that the officers used a bit of restraint.  I am surprised it took that long for the guns to come out.  Sounds like those asp batons aren't very effective.

They weren't. One of the walmart employees jumped in to help the officers.

I've heard that because the ASP batons are lightweight you've really got to throw your body into the swing to make them effective. That isn't always possible in a close quarters melee, which this was very much so.

This video is particularly effective at showing the importance of mindset- the family members had some serious staying power despite the employment of tasers and batons. They were prepared to fight beforehand, and it shows.
