Every time I've flown my dialysis machine and luggage gets searched. And it's inevitable that shortly after each trip, I'll have to have my machine replaced because they damage it. The only things I've lost are the caps for my dialysis catheter, which look like ammonia capsules that they use to wake the unconscious. However, mine are filled with Iodine, but again, I carry spares in my carry on luggage.
