Guy's got cover available but stands there trading shots until the box of fireworks starts going real fast.

Run to cover.  Waddle to cover.  Get down and crawl to cover.  Most of the time it's going to be something you did not pay for.  If you did pay for it you need to understand that having to replace it because it got all shot up is a lot easier and less expensive than replacing yourself.
