Profiles in Stupefaction
« on: July 26, 2015, 08:15:41 PM »
This should, in my opinion, be the title of President Obama's first post-presidential biography.

So, America's first African-American President, a self-described transformative figure, has gone abroad to apologize for our nation's superior, moralistic tone and interference in other nations' affairs. Now, this product of the pinnacle of corrupt machine politics, Chicago, with his own history of questionable dealings, travels to Kenya and proceeds to lecture the Kenyan government and people on the evils of corruption.

This calls for a blank stare, slack-jawed emoticon, because nothing we have fully conveys my reaction to this rank, unparalleled hypocrisy.

Gov. Goodhair might get out of jail. Send him to Kenya as a special envoy.

I'm so contrarian that I didn't respond to the thread.

Make fun of him all you want, but he would be a big improvement over the current office holder in D.C.  We can probably do better though.

So was he apologizing for the superior, moralistic tone, and interference that he and his own administration have done in the last 7 years?  Or what happened before?

I was referencing his apology tour and previous statements disparaging America's global involvement, and the fact that he is now moralizing in the same paternalistic, patronizing manner he decried before.

You don't understand

Previous administrations have been all moralistic about weapons of mass destruction and killing people.

Obama is being moralistic about gay rights.

You just have to have your priorities straight  ;)   =D

Would "straight priorities" be homophobic or racist if it involves Obama?

An ironic postscript: http://www.bbc.com/news/world-africa-33697932

Kenyans and Ethiopians suggest President Obama get his own house in order before lecturing them.
