Oooh, and now my 401-k is down 0.25% for the year as of yesterday.  Further drops expected today.

Well, Warren Buffett is buying, so I am too. I've had my house sale money on the sidelines waiting to see what's going on. I was going to wait until the normal October downturn. I think we're still gonna see more correction, if not now, then later in the year, but I'm putting some of the home sale money into my Vanguard funds now, and just bought more Ford and GE with their juicy 4% dividends.

I haven't looked at buying any short term individual stocks yet. I'm looking around to see if there are some strong stocks at bargains. I think there will be some in the next thirty days or so.

I'm waiting to see what kind of chaos september brings first- I have a bad feeling about this next month...
I've owned a pretty good chunk of Apple stock and sold it off recently, I'm waiting for a good opportunity to buy more back. It's down about 25 points from its peak a month or so ago, and am hoping it gets well into the double digits (at 108 today).

Well, the Dow is down 530 points, or 3.12%, today.

Meh, I've stopped kicking myself over that kind of stuff. For the stocks I don't ride out long term, if I can get in somewhere before the top, and out somewhere before the bottom, I'm happy. Timing the peaks and valleys will drive you crazy.

I'll be buying normal funds on the 2nd of next month, like I do every month. Probably get a few more shares next month. :)

Well, color me among the stampede, running scared.  Paid the mortgage, and every dime of the 401k went into a money market fund last month.  I thought that would surely spark at least a rally, and maybe a boom.

Yep. AAPL is pretty easy to time, so long as you ignore the 10-15% on each end to be made at the top or bottom.
