political payback, corporatism style?
« on: September 29, 2015, 01:20:58 PM »
http://www.jsonline.com/business/ge-plans-to-stop-making-engines-in-waukesha-b99585793z1-329789871.html

1. Republicans defund the import-export bank, and poor widdle GE suddenly can't do international business anymore because they can't finance their own deals.
2. Immelt has a long record of being a corporatist hack in bed with the obama administration and the clintons.  http://www.forbes.com/sites/beltway/2011/04/08/the-unholy-marriage-of-ge-and-president-obama-at-the-altar-of-industrial-policy/
3. Waukesha, WI is the most conservative area in WI by both population and percent who vote republican, approximately 400,000 people, about 2/3 vote republican reliably.
4. Of all of the plants run by GE in the US, the one in Waukesha gets shut down.

Yes, but why risk their money when they can risk the taxpayers money...
Some days even my lucky rocketship underpants won't help.

Bring me my Broadsword and a clear understanding.
Get up to the roundhouse on the cliff-top standing.
Take women and children and bed them down.
Bless with a hard heart those that stand with me.
Bless the women and children who firm our hands.
Put our backs to the north wind.
Hold fast by the river.
Sweet memories to drive us on,
for the motherland.
