Thread veer, cuz that's what we do here...

When Wife and I had car trouble and were broken down on the inside shoulder of I-45 1200 miles from home, with cars whizzing by at 80 MPH, it was a Mexican who barely spoke any English who stopped and helped get the car running again so we could limp it back (which was no small feat.)  When I told this story to my mom, she had a couple of stories of her own where a Mexican suddenly appeared out of nowhere just in time to save her from a stalker or whatever when she was young and working night shift at the hospital.  
I think guardian angels must look just like Mexicans.

Looks like we've had somewhat similar experiences. I can't even count the number of times a Mexican has brought me food when I was hungry and just sitting at a table.

I think they live a lot closer to the edge of disaster than we do, and so recognize when someone is in trouble.  Stupid (comfortable) white people like me are oblivious most of the time.
