Funny moment: Driving my Ford Pinto around without issue laughing at the goobers stuck in the ditches in their 4WD Goat-Roper Trucks when it snowed in Shreveport, LA years ago.
I might not last very long or be very effective but I'll be a real pain in the ass for a minute!

You know, if we're lost, you can tell me.

Matthew Quigley:
We're lost.

Crazy Cora:
I can take bad news. Just tell me straight.

Matthew Quigley:
I don't know where the hell we are.

Crazy Cora:
No sense takin' time to make it sound better than it is.

Matthew Quigley:
I reckon we're goin' in circles.

Crazy Cora:
Wire things up and I'll see right through. So, just tell me honestly. Are we lost?

Matthew Quigley:
Nope. I know exactly where we are.

Crazy Cora:
That's good, 'cause, frankly, I was gettin' a little worried.

I've taken subarus impressive places, the latest and greatest being 3/4 mile up a horse trail before I realized it was not the overgrown fire road I was looking for. Of course way back when I learned in my Subaru trainer, an '83 GL. When you are 19 and your car is worth $500 you can go anywhere. Down the beach easy. Passed a stuck 4-Runner in the mountains, all kinds of stupid. And then there is the family I grew up in, i learned a "unique" driving style.

But for the Suby, if you don't have power or ground clearance you better have speed. Lots of it.  [popcorn]

I'm so contrarian that I didn't respond to the thread.

Four-door Jaguars seem to have no trouble on mountain 4x4 roads.  At least the one I saw in Colorado was doing fine.

As I told my one professor in college after he ended up on someone's front porch during a snowstorm...

Just because you've got your truck in 4WD, you don't get extra braking power....

Unless your truck has a locked transfer case.  ;)
