TLDR, you may make a living lifting heavy *expletive deleted*it...but it's not as bad as being driven slowly (or perhaps not so slowly) insane by morons with access to a compiler....

About halfway through my sophomore year in college, the prospect of spending 8+ hours a day staring at a green screen pounding in code made becoming an Army Officer much, much, much, more appealing.
Some days even my lucky rocketship underpants won't help.

Bring me my Broadsword and a clear understanding.
Get up to the roundhouse on the cliff-top standing.
Take women and children and bed them down.
Bless with a hard heart those that stand with me.
Bless the women and children who firm our hands.
Put our backs to the north wind.
Hold fast by the river.
Sweet memories to drive us on,
for the motherland.

And I read the thread title as programming socks which is actually part of my job description.
A plan is just a list of things that doesn't happen.

If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen.

None of that rings true with me and I don't see any humor in it.  I see attempts at humor but that's it.

It may pertain more to Excel.

“Fear of death increases in exact proportion to increase in wealth,” Hemingway once said. Today, many of us have become rich in the currency of cowardice. We have so many things and so few experiences. We are desperate to live as long as possible, not as large as possible. We are so afraid to say goodbye to the world that we never say hello.

The only reason coders' computers work better than non-coders' computers is coders know computers are schizophrenic little children with auto-immune diseases and we don't beat them when they're bad.

I once told my mother something similar when trying to help her with her computer; I told her she just had to treat her computer like it was a retarded child.

My mother, who at one point in her life was a substitute for a special-needs class, retorted back that retarded children are much less frustrating to deal with than her computer...

Necessity is the plea for every infringement of human freedom. It is the argument of tyrants; it is the creed of slaves. - William Pitt the Younger

I'm guessing she never dealt with Vista or ME. :)
