Anybody want a chance to own a rare green AK74 polymer mag!?

In case you don't know what this is, the polymer furniture AKM's were originally supposed to have green polymer but that turned out to be to expensive. So, they ended up using green ones as a special AKM, now AK74, awarded to exceptional border guards.
It's the third one he put up for sale, and I believe it's his last. In the first auction the first place bidder got the green mag and a rare first issue 5.45 izh 30rd bakelight, second place bidder only got the green mag and it was $2100. I'm actually surprised it went for so little.

I probably won't buy another 5.45 AK.  I have enough bakelight mags.  The rifle I have is polish and the magwell is tight.  The bakelite mags are the only ones that reliably fit.

The orange bakelite/phenolic magazines themselves now command something of a premium.

They run from $40 to $100 each depending on the armory markings now.

If you just need 74 style 5.45 magazines, there's tons of options of course, but original Russian orange ones, and E. Germans have shot way up in price.

Oh yeah. There are a few that even go for 2-300, and a few super rare variants that go for way more than that. You can get plums for about 30-40 depending on the make. I've got a nice stack of bakelights, plums, firebrick reds, browns, 45 round RPK mags. But the pride and joy of my collection is my 50 round coffin mag. I really want to get me some of them waffle pattern RPK mags.

 :cool: Mine is the 50 rounder. There are also an even more rare 60 round coffin mags. Apparently those weren't very reliable so that's why they came out with the 50.

Also the green furniture set went up for sale in a different group, do to the craziness going on FB right now, and sold for something around 5k.
All these super rare things coming up for sale all at once and I currently don't have any discretionary monies to spend.  :'(

What makes that a "coffin" mag?  I'm assuming something about the shape, but I don't see it from that pic.

I believe the name was originally used on the Suomi M31 mags.
