Anecdotal but the two biggest potheads from my high school class were the first of the class to die.
If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen.

I have a feeling that the cause is poor decision making, and the effect was both a short lifespan and heavy pot use.
A plan is just a list of things that doesn't happen.

And other causal factors, probably, such as poor diet, no exercise, drinking, etc.  All of the usual issues that are compounded by the heavy pot use.

I sure hope it's not true

I'm inclined to agree most of the heavy pot users as I know failed decision-making 101 and it reflected in a variety of areas in their life

It is much more powerful to seek Truth for one's self.  Seeing and hearing that others seem to have found it can be a motivation.  With me, I was drawn because of much error and bad judgment on my part. Confronting one's own errors and bad judgment is a very life altering situation.  Confronting the errors and bad judgment of others is usually hypocrisy.

Pot is no more the cause of attenuated life span in the user than tramp stamps are the cause of increased incidence of sexually transmitted disease in the stamped.

I read that as 'trump stamps' the first time through and had to do a double take.

I sure hope that isn't permanent.

Oh, dear, that looks permanent.

They got a case of "Trump on the rump."

"Hey, what's the rumpus?"
"Check out me Trumpus!"

I would not judge them overly plumpus.

I though most of the life span increases were due to successful treatment of potentially fatal diseases and conditions along with better nutrition in childhood and adult life.  It is an average, not a true expectation.  There is always someone on the bottom end of the expectation.

How many of you can say you have never had something happen to you that would have meant death without modern medicine?  Just something like taking antibiotics for an infection is something they didn't have not that long ago.
