It says stock photo in the stock photo.
Most flare guns in circulation are probably the kind for boats.  Hunter orange, plastic. 
I can't imagine that shooting yourself in the head with one feels good, doing it three times takes dedication (or serious drugs).

Yes but in the end his idea fizzled out. I have heard of successful nail gun suicides though. Just sayin' I guess.

My half brother set his girlfriends house on fire and tried to off himself in the head with a pellet rifle. Apparently alcohol and depression were involved... oh yeah, and prison time. Prison time was involved afterwards too. SMH

Yes, he worked for it. I am reminded of a local lady who shot her abusive man in self defense. With a 7 shot .25. The bathroom door was the backstop and someone went ahead of patrolman Fife and removed the door because it problematically had 20+ holes from errant shots in it.
