I'm not sure what your link is supposed to be. Is that about the thing where white people are supposedly paying po' black folks' rent?

I recall when the White Man's Burden was considered a racist concept.

Race and Income: “Racially Incorrect Facts: A Truly Honest Discussion of Race”
“A truly honest discussion of race would mention that for all of the fashionable cant about “white privilege,” the median household income for white Americans in 2014 ($60, 256) was the 16th highest in the nation. That’s right: White households earned less than those of Americans of various other racial backgrounds. Indians, coming in at $101, 591, earned more than anyone (and substantially more than whites). Yet so too do Taiwanese ($85,566), Filipinos ($82,389), Japanese ($70,261), Chinese ($69,586), Lebanese ($69,514), Iranians ($66,186), Turks ($64,617), Portuguese ($64,002), Palestinians ($63,864), Pakistanis ($62,848), Indonesians ($61,943), Nigerians ($61,289), Syrians ($61,151), and Egyptians ($60,543) in America out-earn whites."

stopped this morning to get a few items for my son's biz.  There was an elderly lady with a car that would not start.  Her groceries were in danger, it was 95F, and the sun was beating down.
I asked if she had help coming. She said her grandson and a friend were supposed to have been there, but had not showed up.  I brought the old 4Runner around, and jumped start her car.
About then, the grand son showed up, and seeing grannie's car was running, just turned and left.  Not a word.
I gave her a cold bottle of water while I was working on her car, and made sure she got going ok.
Yeah, she was black, and I'm white.  Shrug.

Do you think this is too harsh?  Not really targeted against any race so much, but might be a bit much.

1.  There is probably someone in your neighborhood who will do it cheap among other things.
2.  $10 can buy enough alcohol, but maybe that is the cause and not the solution.
3.  Stop using food stamps for junk food and other crap and buy actual groceries.
4.  Don't eat.  Most of us are overweight and I notice that status is not dependent on income.
5.  The library probably has an open seat next to the bum surfing porn.
6.  Looking at #5, sounds like their are plenty of opportunities real close to you.
7.  Wear really nice clothes/shoes and walk a few miles out on the street.  Realistic video games are popular I hear.

POC 1: I need a massage. This week.
White Person 1: [posts Groupon with code for redemption]

POC2: I need therapy. I can spend $10 a session.
White Person 2: [posts contact information to a therapist who they have made arrangements with.]

POC 3: I need groceries.
White Person 3: "I'll get them for you. PM me and I'll send an Amazon Fresh or Safeway delivery. You just pick out what you want. I have a $200 limit."

POC 4: I'm too upset to make dinner. I live in Seattle.
White Person 4: "Come over to my house for dinner, bring a friend if you like. PM me and I'll send you the address, or can I order delivery to you? What kind of food do you like?"

POC 5: I need a quiet place to work on _________.
White Person 5: "I have an office, spare room, house, that will be unoccupied on the following dates, would you like to use that space? I can send pictures ..."

POC 6: I want to scream and cuss at someone.
White Person 6: "I volunteer as tribute. How do we set this up?"

POC 7: I want to escape this cruel world in a *Specific Videogame* but can't afford it on Steam right now. This is not a crisis, I just don't trust people easily and want to see if this works.
White Person 7: Thank you for giving me the chance to do something concrete and relatively easy. I was quietly hating myself for doing nothing.

Good for you, doing what any decent human should do.

During a high school trip to the city many years ago in the middle of winter I gave my hat and gloves to an apparently homeless man that had neither.  I ran into him years later and he remembered me quite well for it. One of those many moments where a modicum of human decency had impact beyond its own measure.  I mean, going from the heated bus to the heated venue, plenty of hats and gloves back in my family's heated home; no real hardship for me at all.  But from having simply noticed that man and taken a moment to address an apparent concern to anyone who would take the time to notice.  Apparently so singular an act as to ingrain my person for instant recognition years later.

But the number of folks who will take the time and put in any effort is frightfully low.  I like that sociology experiment with the priests in training asked to give a lecture on the Good Samaritan who walk by an apparently distressed man on their way to the talk.

Oh, and also being a man who enjoys his fiction, I like to imagine one of these really token gestures of good will, will see me spared or rescued ect down the line.   =D

It took me a while to figure out that POC was "Person of Colour(s)" and not "Point of Contact".

Anywho.  So if my POC friends say "I need X." it is my job to supply them with  "X" ??

And this is because I paid attention in school, worke dmy ass of to make something of myself and to provide for myself and my family, kept my nose clean and avoid breaking the law, so I owe these "POC's" somehow ??

I think the abbreviation should be POS's....  just sayin'

The author makes at least one statistical fallacy when he compares black-on-white and white-on-black crime rates, and academic integrity forces me to call him on it: the raw rates of BOW and WOB crime, if intended to model "criminality", dont tell you much by themselves. They have to be corrected, most straightforwardly by the proportion of each population against the whole. For example, if there are 10 black people in Idaho and 100000 white people, you would expect BOW crime to be 1000 times higher than WOB crime by default, with no " criminality " bias at all.

Even the "straightforward correction" above is a very gross correction considering e.g. blacks and whites are not evenly diffused in society either in where they live or who they interact with. Statistics is hard, but it helps nobody to abuse them to make a point.
Maybe a rare occurence, but then you only have to get murdered once to ruin your whole day.

How's it go?

There are lies, damnable lies and statistics.

Then there is common sense and intuition. If you want to avoid being a black on white crime statistic don't hang out in the hood after dark.

For the invisible things of him since the creation of the world are clearly seen, being perceived through the things that are made, even his everlasting power and divinity, that they may be without excuse. Because knowing God, they didn’t glorify him as God, and didn’t give thanks, but became vain in their reasoning, and their senseless heart was darkened. Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools.
