I'd not heard of this before. Not sure that I personally would sign up as a driver, even though I make some long road trips nowadays, but it's kind of a neat idea for people who travel a lot, especially if they are pickup or van drivers. You could probably at least pay for a good portion of your gas.

Basically, it's kind of an Uber for package delivery. I suspect that even UPS, Fedex, etc. don't mind the competition, since I think they have found that larger packages, regardless of weight, are the least cost effective for them to handle. So if Joe Pickup delivers a chair or similar, it's probably no skin off their nose. Heck, even for stuff like desktop computers. There have been several times I would have gladly given someone here one of my old giant desktops or monitors for free, but the shipping costs would have been in the $75 range, so off to the Salvation Army they went.

Sounds interesting if you don't have to drive an hour across town to deliver it or pick it up or both.  I guess that would increase cost.

It also occurs to me that people could earn money doing this without worrying about competition or political opposition from cab companies and such.
