Facts no longer matter to the demonstrators protesters rioters. All they need is an excuse to churn up another demonstration protest riot. Generally, the fewer facts the better, because it's inconvenient when the facts show that the shooting was justified. It's much better to get the demonstrating protesting rioting under way well before any inconvenient facts emerge.

I don't think so. The rich 'hoods near these folks are not the kind of communities that will form an impromptu militia. And the small towns and neighborhoods that would are miles distant from places where there would be a riot.

The odds of them overlapping short of full scale civil breakdown and roving bands of bandits are pretty slim.

It's much more likely that someone like us on this board will get caught in a riot while passing through. I think, legal or moral justification aside, any white male that kills a bunch of black folks "protesting" will be crucified. The press will make their coverage of George Zimmerman look fair and balanced.

If a riot started moving outwards in the nearest city to me, they would have to go through 20 miles of uppity liberal suburbs in one direction before meeting any resistance, 10 miles in another, and the third possible direction is Hispanic, which is a no go zone for BLM types.

Every once it a while, you're totally *expletive deleted*ed no matter what you do.  The best you can hope for might be to make the world a better place by killing a bunch of sons of bitches that desperately need it.  It's best to avoid those places (there was a nasty thread recently on THR or TFL about that) but if you step right in the middle of a steaming pile of it, might as well die like a warrior instead of a victim.

I'm with ya. I'm old, gimpy, and running just ain't happening. If it comes down my block before I can bug out, I'm diggin in and if I go down, I'm going down as hard as possible. Like I've said before: "I might not last very long or be very effective but I'll be a real pain in the ass for a minute!"

In most places you are right. During Furgeson my brothers little neighborhood had whites and blacks armed at all times that crap wasn't going to play there and it was close to him.

Just as a data point, all of these riots have taken place in commercial areas.  They are not going through residential areas (even their own).  It's hard to grab several boxes of Air Jordans, Hair Weaves, and bottles of Malt Liquor, going door-to-door in an apartment complex or even worse, going house-to-house.

The purpose of these "protests" is not to protest the event, but to rob and burn.   It's simply Sutton's Law in effect.*

I was thinking Koreatown during the LA riots . . . but with better aim.

So far, the perps seem to be confining their antics to various business districts, and even in Ferguson they avoided the businesses which appeared to have armed security.

Fortunately, I live quite some distance from the "likely" trouble spots, and I'm fairly certain that any violent rioters would run out of steam long before they reached my area on foot. (I don't see car/truck caravans of rioters descending on my 'burb anytime soon.)

This was quite close to our house. The good news is, the bad guys got perforated. The bad news is, my post office is right across the street and I am there regularly. Can't legally be armed on their property don't ya know and all that. Most assuredly not in the building.
