Does he think "Sooner" excludes students from other states? Aren't all the students considered "Sooners"?

Of course, they really have no explanation for why it's racist, but they're sure it's racist. Against Indians. Oh right, indigenous peoples even though most of them prefer "Indians" because teh feelz of liberals says "shut up savages, I know when you're being insulted and you don't."

As a graduate of OU I have to agree that the term "Sooner" is outdated and should be scrapped. Very few people outside of Oklahoma know who or what a Sooner is/was.

Now call them "sneaky, cheating bastiges that jumped the gun and often claimed the best parcels in a land give away" and there is no doubt what you are talking about.

It is kind of hard to shorten that to something that rolls off the tongue though.

But according to the article, "Sooners" historically referred to white settlers. And we all know that racism directed against [privileged] whites isn't "racism," so therefore "Sooners" can't be racist.

It can be racist because it was the privileged white people who decided that the land that was used to settle the Indians American Indian injuns Amerind Amerindians red man red skin indigenous peoples of America should now be given to those shifty white people (or as I have been called many times, White MFer) which included those sneaky bastiges that jumped the gun and came to be called Sooners.

I love they way the letter of demand is written, "David Boren should be prepared to either agree with these demands or resign."

I have news for the little buttercup, after (if) she gets her degree in human relations and is pounding the pavement looking for work on her off days from McDonalds, David Boren will still be there whether their "demands" are met or not.

Being someone who just moved from Oklahoma and my son attended OU last year and hopefully will return there after he completes his associates, I find this rather stupid.  Curious as to how many of those students are from Oklahoma?

And as stated in the article, the damn "mascot" is Sooner(s).

That's what gets me about this one. The word "Sooner" must be plastered all over the campus, and they're just now figuring out it offends them, in this one instance?

It might be fun to just disband the program entirely, and blame them for any sexual assaults that occur thereafter. (Obviously, they could start the program again, later, after the stupid has shifted elsewhere.)

No, snowflake, teaching people to not become victims is called "empowerment." But, we know you don't think you should have to, like, do anything to become empowered, you think empowerment should just be bestowed upon you as a testament to your special snowflakeness.
