Quote
“[T]he State agrees with defendant that New Jersey’s stun-gun statute, N.J.S.A. 2C:39-3h, is unconstitutional in light of Caetano v. Massachusetts, 136 S.Ct. 1027 (2016), and defendant’s conviction under that statute should be vacated in the interests of justice.”

Gosh, and it only took seven years to get a just decision.

I never understood stun gun bans anyway. They let you buy a killing device, but not a non-lethal one? Are they worried someone will go on a stun gun rampage? I'd much rather be hit with a stun gun than stabbed with a screwdriver, all things considered.

Although I suppose most places with bans would ban firearms if they could.

You would be amazed at what R. S. N. J. considers a deadly weapon.  Slingshots, for one.

Don't forget firearms ID cards for air rifles, and a separate pistol purchasers' permit for air pistols. Pistol permits are one per "gun", and take 4-8 months to be approved.
