I'm from the Government - I'm here to help

Single mother in Buffalo took her kids out of school because they weren't doing well. She has receipted documents showing that she formally unenrolled the kids. Nonetheless, CPS showed up with cops, claiming they had a court order (which they didn't show her) to take the kids, and then the cops arrested her when she objected.

Several heads should roll. Looking at the paperwork she filed I question how qualified she really is to be teaching her kids, but that's not the issue. She has clearly been deprived of due process, and that's not right.

You know, it may not be for the best, but sometimes I think local government types need to have a greater fear of a mob forming for the purpose of taring and feathering or worse.

By the time this is done she will be sending her kids to private school from the proceeds of her lawsuit. If only those who caused this had to pay the settlement then maybe people would think a few times before they do things like this.

Yes.  Nail the decision-makers to the wall.  I've often wanted to introduce myself to some of these people who hide behind the anonymity of committee meetings.  I want a copy of the meeting minutes.  I want names.

This, even apart from the OP's specific situation... assuming that's accurate in the first place.

Grants supervised visitation

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) - An Erie County Family Court Judge has denied a single mother's request for custody of her kids following educational neglect claims.

EyeBallNews received the following statement from the Buffalo Public School District:
Quote
>"In response to allegations that the Buffalo Public Schools improperly processed home schooling paperwork for a parent, the District asserts that those claims are inaccurate.  After investigation, it is clear that Child Protective Services was contacted prior to the district receiving a Letter of Intent from the parent to home school her children.
Blahblahblah...
>In the meantime, her children have been placed in court-supervised care with the children's grandmother.
