More on the Hearing Protection Act
« on: March 14, 2017, 12:20:09 PM »
This one is pretty funny. It's Gillibrand shilling for this gun control group that I've never heard of, and they're pretty much making opposite statements.

Actually it would be funnier if I didn't know 50% of lame America will buy in to both their arguments as non-conflicting fact.

That is the group that Gabby Giffords and her husband started after she got shot.

Up is down and down is up.

There are five things, above all else, that make life worth living: a good relationship with God, a good woman, good health, good friends, and a good cigar.

Only two defining forces have ever offered to die for you, Jesus Christ and the American Soldier.  One died for your soul, the other for your freedom.

Bacon is the candy bar of meats!

Only the dead have seen the end of war!

That floors me, but it really shouldn't. Why should counterfactuality surprise us, when our institutions tell us that Bruce Jenner is a woman, and two women can be married to one another, and so on?

I realize the HPA is a probably a low priority in the scheme of things, and would be considered a distraction by many, but it's already written and ready to go and shouldn't be a huge battle to get through - I wish it would get passed already.
In the moral, catatonic stupor America finds itself in today it is only disagreement we seek, and the more virulent that disagreement, the better.

I wouldn't expect to see it voted on in committee in this year's session. There's just too much other stuff on  the table.

As innocuous as this bill is, and with as much support as it has, it's still going to be a battle.

Ah, okay. I never paid attention to the name of her group since it always seems to be her husband speaking for them. I've always just associated his name with it without paying attention to the actual group name. :)

Yeah, I don't mean to say it's going to be unopposed or anything but compared to obamacare repeal/replace it should be pretty straightforward and I wouldn't count on it getting any easier in the future so I'd like to see it get done.

I wonder if Dem's from pro-gun districts will go against the NRA just to stop Trump?
