The only thing regarding this whole mess that I'm shocked about is that it's dems taking the lead on the inquiry. Good for them though.

I am honestly shocked. No sarcasm.

Only a third of Obamaphones were obtained or used fraudlently?

I do love that people try to claim it's not funded by taxpayers, just a "small fee added to everyone's bill." A mandatory fee by the government is a tax. People who pay said tax are taxpayers. So yes, blindingly obviously it is a bloody tax.

The program is old, it started with landlines.  It expanded to cell phones under Bush.  When Obama became president, the program was expanded even more, hence the Obamaphone name.  It is paid for with a tax on phone bills.
