This Bookseller is in the Wrong Line of Work

Sounds like this person should find another job, like community organizer. I'll be damned if I ever let some cash register technician tell me what I should and shouldn't read.

So what can you do when a customer wants a book that you not only find objectionable but also believe actually dangerous in the lessons it portends amidst such a politically precarious time? If it helps, swap Elegy for any book that you find particularly insidious, whether it’s Atlas Shrugged, The Communist Manifesto, or The Bible. The question remains: without stooping to the level of crazed book-burning, does the bookseller’s role ever evolve past the capitalist exchange of money for paper and pulp? And are there meaningful ways to resist the continued sales of disastrous books?

Peter Thiel is a "literal tech vampire"? As in literally literal? What does that mean, and how did he become so?

What a whiny, self-indulgent snowflake.

"How dare these hicks buy books I don't approve of?"

Well, why don't you stop carrying those books in your store?  What's that?  It's not your store?  Oh.  In that case, do as the owner tells you and keep your opinions to yourself.

So we....what?.....burn the books we don't like?    Let's burn  the Holy Bible.  How about let us burn The Turner Diaries?  What a horrible book THAT was?  It inspired McViegh!
Hitler had the right idea!   Didn't he have a lot of books burned?
REVENGE! >:D  Let's burn Mein Kampf!  That'll show the world!

It's amazing.....don't these people understand that they're endorsing actions taken by history's tyrants?

Maybe or maybe not, remember that history is taught that much any more.  The other question is if the know that do they care?

There's a rumour going about that Peter Thiel pays for blood replacement to stave off aging. According to one rumour I read, he had several young men employed just for this very purpose.

Obviously he's some sort of lefty... but I'm not sure which kind, all I can tell is that his head is up his own ass for bending over backwards so much to drop hints that he's not this kind or that kind of liberal.

I promise not to duck.

I like how he points out other businesses that the left has boycotted and makes a comment about them loosing money over it...

Except I wouldn't be surprised if the political stances of those companies has probably earned them more money than it ever cost them.

So yeah, if dude wants to stop selling books he finds unpalatable, that's his right. If his customer base agrees with his view point, he'll be fine. If they don't? Well, sucks to be him.

And he lumps in those businesses, who are doing just fine, with the mom & pop joints that have been ruined for not wanting to get involved. Thanks for caring about the little people you stepped on, left-wingers.

Oh, and if Chick-Fil-A hadn't become a political issue, I wouldn't do half as much business with them as I do. Great joints, but I don't like chicken sammitches that much. Half the time, I'm just there for the yummy, delicious lefty-tears.
