Snitch culture ascendent.

High school kid suspended for picture of Airsoft gun.

Some little pants-wetter called the au-thor-o-tays on this kid who got a nice AS gun and posted a pic of it to Snapchat.

He's dragged out of class, and searched and his house is searched by five cops. Plus he's suspended for a day for disrupting the educational process.

Hopefully he can sue some people for this. And hopefully it can be discovered who sent in the tip. That barely-a-person needs their own teachable moment.

Regardless of his outcome I see this happening to a lot more people as it's a perfect way to jam up gun owners. If a gun owner posts a pic of a gun, or any weapon really, drop a tip into the local police and say it made you frightened. Even if the gun owner comes out the other side with no charges they've still been through a wringer.

This will be especially effective if you can tie the gun owner to a school, for as we've just seen, that brings out big-time goosestepping from the cops and educrats.

If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or your arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen.

As it happens, that's the town I grew up in. Still have friends in the area -- I expect to attend a high school reunion in October.

This town recently (a year or so back) enacted an anti-gun ordinance that not only prohibits possession of any firearm on any Town-owned property (even unloaded), it also prohibits the discharge anywhere in the town of firearms, BB guns, airsofts, bows and arrows, and crossbows. Don't remember (I have a friend who is an NRA instructor who lives in town, I'll have to check with him) but I think they even prohibit slingshots. When I grew up there it was basically a farming community. Today, there's only one farm left, mostly inactive, and the town has become a bedroom suburb for Yale professors and doctors.

Very distressing.

It gives an entirely new slant to the old axiom, "You may beat the rap but you can't beat the ride."

Had a text message and then a phone call from my friend the NRA instructor. Grammar school and high school in town were locked down today. It seems while the aw-thaw-rih-tays were busy worrying about a kid with a completely legal airsoft toy, a delegation of dastardly dudes, reportedly driving a black Mercedes (what else/), offed someone and dumped his body in the middle of a state road near the center of town.

So far, my source tells me the airsoft has received more coverage in the press than the murder.

The location where the body was found is very near the grammar school. My friend has a 6-year-old daughter. His wife has been home schooling her but making noises about wanting to put her in public school next year. I wonder if Mom will reconsider after this?

Well, he must have been killed elsewhere, because they wouldn't have violated the GFSZA.

I understand that Boulder CO is doing much the same, and yeah, it is a pity.

I didn't think about that. From his description of where the body was found, it was probably near the outer limit of the GFSZ radius -- could have been within 1,000 feet, could have been outside. Maybe the shooter(s) had a carry permit.
