In N Out Boycott
« on: August 30, 2018, 01:54:43 PM »
This one will be fun to watch. Anyone who has ever eaten at this predominately California burger joint (and my favorite fast food place) knows of the horrendously long lines. It being CA, you can figure that around 70% of the people in line are Democrats. I don't think they are going to give up their Double Double for their political party.

"So kids, do you want to go to JesusChicken or HateBurger for dinner tonight ??"  [/Too tired to cook dinner Mom voice]

Some days even my lucky rocketship underpants won't help.

Bring me my Broadsword and a clear understanding.
Get up to the roundhouse on the cliff-top standing.
Take women and children and bed them down.
Bless with a hard heart those that stand with me.
Bless the women and children who firm our hands.
Put our backs to the north wind.
Hold fast by the river.
Sweet memories to drive us on,
for the motherland.

Of course the very funny part is that the In N Out family is of a religious bent, much like Jesuschicken. This has been known for a couple of decades, which is also as long as they've made Republican contributions. It's only in the era of TDS that something suddenly needs to be done about them.

However, it’s not clear that the company’s current leadership is nearly as aligned with the Republicans as that of Chick-fil-A, a company that has backed organizations that restrict LGBT rights. According to campaign finance filings, In-N-Out Burger also donated $30,000 last year and $50,000 this year to Californians for Jobs and a Strong Economy, a political action committee that supports business-friendly Democratic candidates.

So, like many (dare I say "most") businesses, In-N-Out Burger donates to both political parties. It would serve the California Democrats right if their proposed boycott results in In-N-Out Burger no longer contributing to the Democrat PAC, and giving that money to the Republicans instead.

I forgot which company, but we had a topic here some months back where that happened. Some large company got yelled at for a Republican donation, so they stopped all political donations, and I seem to recall, the dem donations were bigger. :)

Southern chain Cook Out has a good following. Look carefully at the drink cups and you might see a Bible verse.
