Progs Already Have Excuse for Lack of Blue Wave

Gerrymandering.

This is a pretty comical excuse. Especially considering which side has been the king of gerrymandering for years. I still recall losing my CA Congressman, Tom McClintock (look him up - he should be President for life) years ago when dems finagled the most circuitous district I have ever seen on the CA coast to hit strong left population centers and get a win for their gal.

That is something both sides have been guilty of here and both sides have taken it to court.  I am sure Texas Dems already have the court filing filled out for the redistricting to be done after 2020.

I'm in Peter Roskam's 6th district.  Funny that what had been a "safe" R seat (Henry Hyde used to be my Rep back in the day.  Google "Hyde AMendment" to get an idea)  is suddenly a competitive district thanks to Mike Madigan and his redistricting...

Somehow the conversation has been coopted to make gerrymander equal something only Republicans do because of racism. It gets screamed in Virginia because by golly we're a blue state but you Hicks keep electing red legislators! We are a microcosm of the abolish the electoral college thing.

Gerrymandering got us into this big weird C shaped district, and a pretty smiling woman as US rep. whose been doing the "oh the horrors of Trump!" thing lately.

Ohio has some really good gerrymandering too.  I am in the 1st, but check out the 9th, 11th, 13th, and 16th.

My personal favorite is Luis Gutierrez 4th District.  Talk about a "C" shape, but hey , that's the only way to capture all the Puerto Ricans in Humboldt Park on the near North side and the illegal Mexicans/Central Americans in Little Village on the South side.

How would the hypothetical we redistrict fairly?  County lines? Square blocks? I really don't know. I used to live in VA 3 He's Bobby Scott, a black, good old boy Democrat who gets the black vote and all the shipyard dollars. He is unbeatable.
