When I saw that picture, I flashed back to my reading of Harlan Ellison's old short story, Dogfight on 101.
It was set in a future in which SCOTUS had ruled that interstate highways were not subject to most laws, so people began "arming up" and occasionally fighting duels on the roads. Things like machine guns, lasers, and armor plating were "options" on new cars. The story centered on a "dogfight" that took place on Hwy 101.
