A chainsaw wouldn't be my first choice, but hey, whatever works.
A plan is just a list of things that doesn't happen.
Is defenestration possible through the overton window?

What's the Tueller drill distance for knife vs chainsaw? I guess it depends on gas engine or electric.

For my chainsaw, you can get as close as you want.  Usually takes me about 10 minutes to get it running.

There's one advantage to an electric.

Well, if they are 10 minutes away, you are good to go.   =D

Even a non running chainsaw would be a fairly formidable weapon in a hand to hand situation.

You must be Arnold Schwarzenegger. :P

I just have a mid-size Stihl, and I would get tired pretty quick if I had to swing it around like a Katana.

All of mine have 2 handles. Bring that jagged bar and chain down across bad guys neck and he might reconsider.

Grips. Brooms have handles, guns chainsaws have grips*
