AZ Shooting: Glendale

At least 2 shot,  developing story.  One shooter in custody.

Of course a democratic state senator (Martin Quezada) witnessed a suspect in the area with an AR-15.  He described it as an "armed terrorist."

Meaning the suspect may have been armed with a beach ball. Or a herring.

Or a herring.

Were any trees attacked?

He uploaded to snapchat.

There's a video at this link.

Very nonchalant about the decision to shoot up a place.

Interestingly, Bloomberg has dumped $5 million into gun control initiatives in AZ recently.  I find it very odd that a guy whose deepest message in his shitty video manifesto is "it's society's fault," and a democratic Senator, happen to be present for it.  I'd like to see ties of this shooter to democratic or socialist activist groups.

It may well be terrorism.  And Quesada is part of it.

The video is insane.

Guy is hip-shooting an AR.  AR has an optic on it.  He never once shoulders it.  No effort at any semblance of aim, just a very dangerous noisemaker.  Even when pointing at a shot and injured woman on the ground and having a conversation with her.  He didn't finish her off... evidently 3 total injured, none life threatening, no dead.

This is deliberate terrorism.  And it is NOT going to have the effect this guy wants in AZ.

It'll probably result in further relaxation on carry in restaurants and bars, if anything.  If not legally, at least culturally.

I'm guessing he'll be involuntarily incelibate when welcomed to prison.

He was "bullied"

Quote
A gunman who opened fire at a suburban Phoenix restaurant and retail complex, injuring three people, wanted to target shoppers in retaliation for bullying he had suffered, authorities said Thursday.

“He said that he went to Westgate to target victims. He wanted to gain some respect, and he felt that he had been bullied in his life,” Glendale Police Sgt. Randy Stewart said at a news conference.

Armando Hernandez Jr., 20, also later admitted to detectives that he intended to harm 10 people.

“I don’t know why the suspect decided 10 people,” Stewart said.

And of course we need, MOR gun control.

Quote
State Sen. Martin Quezada was at the complex during the shooting and wrote on Twitter that he witnessed a person “with an AR-15 shoot up Westgate.”

In a statement Thursday, the Democratic lawmaker said he was “beyond horrified what I saw with my own eyes.” He then called for more gun control.

“Civilians should not have access to these types of weapons and be able to walk into a mall to destroy people’s lives in a matter of seconds,” Quezada said.

Police would only confirm a black assault rifle was recovered, and the suspect had loaded three magazines to capacity. Investigators have also searched his car and his home.

^^^I read a bit over the years about crimes that carry some degree of respect from other prisoners.  I know that sex offenders against children and the like are at the bottom of the respect list.  I wonder where 'mass shooting at a mall' ranks on the respect scale.

Not terribly surprising results.  Though I'm not sure how definitive Quora is on the matter.

I'd guess that mall-shooter-of-innocents falls somewhere well below gang banger or vengeance-murderer, and only a step or two above ChoMo.
