Last year, a guy I know (nice guy, hugely left leaning lawyer, though) went into virtually orgasmic pleasure when he posted on Facebook about how Arlington County, Virginia, FINALLY did the right thing and removed the name of that horrible, horrible racist Robert E. Lee from a high school that his son will eventually go to and replaced Lee's name with... LIBERTY!

Only... it was a dual named school... Originally it was Washington-Lee and now it's Washington Liberty.

So I asked him flat out in this FB post... where is his advocacy for removing the name of the other traitorous slave owner who fought to maintain the "peculiar institution" in the United States?

Or was his moralistic stance... relative?

Probably what they were taught in school. That he was a white man who came to America and like all white men wanted nothing more than to enslave and murder totally peaceful non-white people because that's what white people do. Never mind that in reality he was a trader who wanted to get to China to trade for Chinese goods. This is basically what my daughter's HS history class tried to teach her. Thank God I taught her to question what they teach.

Actually there have been threats to do just that by a certain totally peaceful group within the region of peace not because of the slave bit* but because the builders didn't worship the peace prophet.
Got to remember though that the pyramids back in the day looked very different from the way they do now due to the removal of the outer polished limestone to be used as building material plus one of the Muslim rulers of Egypt torn up one side of the big one trying to get in. So in many way they've already been partially torn down

*Actually most research I'll seen based on the housing they found of the workers buried in the sand suggests there was little to no slavery involved in the building(s)

This. I'm this close to thinking Chauvin and his ilk should be promoted to police chief, just so the mob learns not to mob.

I have to keep reminding myself the rules and norms of civilized society are there to keep us (and Donald Trump) in our places. The mobocrat super-citizens, of course, are too wise to need such guidance.
