Shooter-the movie
« on: March 08, 2007, 04:32:15 PM »
"A marksman (Wahlberg) living in exile is coaxed back into action after learning of a plot to kill the president. Ultimately double-crossed and framed for the attempt, he goes on the run to track the real killer and find out who exactly set him up, and why."

Dunno how many of you have seen the preview and recognized the premise as Stephen Hunter's Point of Impact.  I did the first time that I actually watched the commercial instead of ignoring it.

I'm anxious to see if this is done well and how it portrays shooters and shooting.  Since the movie site is not listing "based on the book by" I'm a bit pessimistic.

Either way, it's definitely time to re-read the book.

Only movie better than the book was "Hunt for Red October".  I'm sure there are others, but none are popping into my head at the moment.

Seems like it might be an interesting movie.  Any movie predominately showing my old rifle should be.   grin
"Rev, your picture is in my King James Bible, where Paul talks about "inventors of evil."  Yes, I know you'll take that as a compliment."  - Fistful, possibly highest compliment I've ever received.
