A questing of ethics
« on: March 15, 2007, 06:23:24 AM »
Not mine, I'm quite clear on those.  grin

I recently came across and joined a social networking site called LinkedIn. While making links with present and past work associates, I've been looking at what they've been doing since we've worked together.  On some of the profiles, the past positions listed are NOT the ones they actually held in past jobs, notably a couple have indicated they were Supervisors or Managers of whole business units when their jobs were actually much narrower in focus or lower in level in the feeding chain.

I know resume padding and the like goes on in the work world, though I do not practice such myself.  It just bugs me a tad when I do see it.  Anybody else feel the same?
I am free, no matter what rules surround me. If I find them tolerable, I tolerate them; if I find them too obnoxious, I break them. I am free because I know that I alone am morally responsible for everything I do.

Usually when that happens it winds up biting said people in the butt.
There are five things, above all else, that make life worth living: a good relationship with God, a good woman, good health, good friends, and a good cigar.

Only two defining forces have ever offered to die for you, Jesus Christ and the American Soldier.  One died for your soul, the other for your freedom.

Bacon is the candy bar of meats!

Only the dead have seen the end of war!

Yup. With so many research tools at everybody's fingertips, it eventually blows up on them.

Usually the first time someone else is about to be bypassed for a promotion.  grin

A fancy resume may help you get a job, but it is your ability that generally helps you keep it. They want to claim they walked on (liquid) water? Let them. They will be hard-pressed to repeat the feat.
