Yesterday was the day....Rip, my friend.
« on: March 14, 2007, 03:21:22 AM »
Well, yesterday marked the end of the fight.

My Pup had started to tank hard, and there was nothing left to do.

She fought a good fight.

They had given her 6-8 months, well over 2 1/2 years ago.

We did what we could do for her, she did what she could do for herself.

It still sucks.

My wife and I are at a loss.

Fortunately, my 2 1/2 year old has figured out that something/ one is missing, but hasn't asked yet.

When asked, we have decided to pull the "She's in heaven with Grammy" card, and let it go at that.

Thank you all for your advice.

I will admit this to you, my friends, that I am chrushed.

This is the 2nd Dog I have had the honor of putting down, and I hate it.

I miss her, and hope the beach is beautiful, the water warm, the pasture grean, and the endless supply of tennis balls keep her busy until she and I meet again....

Sorry mate. Good luck with telling your little one.
I do not like, when with me play, and I think that you also

I know what you're feeling. It's never easy when a trusted friend dies.

Ruger has been gone for going on 2 months, now, and I still miss her so damn much it's not even funny.

My girl, Misha, is 12.  She's slowed a lot in the past 6 months.

I, too, will be crushed: she's been with me through everything...

Sorry, friend.

It's been 2 yrs since we had to put our beloved Griz to sleep...hardest day of my life.  Cired for days before and after and I'm not ashamed to admit it.  Even my wife acknowledges that that dog was the love of my life.

The idea that I might get to "see" her again is quite a comfort.

Very sorry for your loss.  It never gets easier.

I lost my pup Frank about a year ago, best damned puppy you ever seen.

He'd politely come up to you and sit down, while you were eating, and expectantly look at you like "Well, if you want to give me a bite of that, I'd appreciate it.  "
Not a mean bone in that dog's body.  (he was half lab, 1/4 german sheperd 1/4 chow,)

He apparently got some bacterial infection of the intestine that killed him.
