Uhhh . . . I made an observation about problems with the gearing in DaVinci's tank drawing . . . and you're finding religious significance in it?

Jesus?

The Pharisees?

Mary Magdalene?

It's just fistful's sarcastic, warped sense of humor.

I'll field this one.

The plot of the recent book and movie "The Da Vinci Code" was that DaVinci included hints as to the secret that Jesus had descendents through Mary Mag in his drawings and paintings.

So anything Leonardo did is now fodder for "secrets of Jesus" jokes.

I find it requires less effort to tell jokes that have already been done to death.

HankB, the other part of the joke is that environmental types sometimes ask, "What Would Jesus Drive?"  (Implying that Jesus would drive something fuel-efficient.)  This is a take-off on the recently popular Christian slogan, "What Would Jesus Do?"  Neither of which had any connection to The Da Vinci Code, until my brilliant tie-in.

The worn-in and comfortable jokes.  They're pleasant without being challenging, like an old pair of chinos, or your favorite book.

Good times...good times.

Well, he did play "The King of the World" and "the son sent to redeem his people" in those two.

OK, I didn't get the movie reference at first since I try to avoid bad movies (along with bad music, bad food, etc.)

As for "What Would Jesus Drive" I remember discussing that at work - consensus was a big, extended-cab pickup truck.  angel

After all, unlike the environuts who first posed the question, He had an honest job - carpenter - and later on, got a dozen apprentices . . . though at least one of them didn't work out so well.

Didn't Jesus drive (ride) a donkey? That is fuel-efficient, albeit slow. A world of asses. I pity the one assigned to Al Gore - he seems to have become more bountiful of late. Assicide?

Jesus drives a lowered '76 Monte Carlo.  I've seen it.  It even has J E S U S  etched in big letters on the back window.

After tonight's little drive, I need a 'WWJD about a broken headlight?' sticker for the back of my car.
