Where to get first aid supplies?
« on: August 20, 2021, 11:12:00 AM »
I've seen some discussions here about tourniquets and quick-clot and Israeli bandages and such. The local CVS doesn't seem to stock that stuff. Any websites you can recommend?

Also, a little Swedish first aid kit I found:

I generally just pick up some stuff at the gun shows. CAT-T tourniquet the best, SWAT wrap tourniquet is handy enough size you might actually carry it. Put a little bit a lot of places, not one hundred pound bag suitable for treating battalions.

Honestly you can find most all of that stuff on the Amazon. Otherwise, places like LAPG also sell it, and often have 10%-25% off sales. I think I got my last tourniquets and IFAC from LAPG.

Thanks for the suggestions.

Hadn't thought to check my local Cabelas. They have QuikClot, at least. And several pre-fab first aid kits.

I get my first aid supplies on Amazon, but I don’t go for the lowest price to avoid counterfeit goods.

Yeah, you have to be careful with almost everything on Amazon these days. I find the one star reviews to be my friends nowadays. As well as doublechecking who is fulfilling the order.

You can make a passable longer term wound management  kit at Walmart and tractor supply. Gauze, no stick pads, ace bandages, vet tape, not for human medicine etc.

I was lucky enough to get a couple of GI IFAKs for $40/ea.  No Quik-Clot but other than that they were complete including CATs.  Israeli bandages are widely available; I think I used the Sportsman's Guide for them.  $4/ea for the 6" and $6/ea for the 8".

Other than that, OTC is good enough for minor cuts and scrapes.

This is a timely thread, I don't have access to the stuff I used to have and some of my stuff is getting old. Although a lot of my stuff will last forever. :)
