I had two almost identical models of the Llama .380. One was a locked-breech exactly like a 5/8 scale model of the 1911, the other was nearly identical except it was blowback.
The blowback model was distinctly harder to rack because of the stronger recoil spring than the locked-breech version, to the point where as arthritis increased, I could hardly rack it at all. I sometimes had to cock it first (to eliminate the hammer spring force) before racking the slide itself. And you could tell where they had added weight to the slide.
I looked at some of the tip-up autos, but about then started to favor revolvers anyhow.
I occasionally carry a DAO Kahr CW-9, but that one stays loaded at all times, so slide racking is not necessary and it's not that hard with the striker pre-set.
Anything that makes it easier for more people to defend themselves is A-OK in my book.
