Checked in at 0700.  Took me back at 0710.  IV in by 0720.  Wife allowed back at 0725.  Two nurses came to check on me while waiting.  Doc and resident came to see me at 0750, asked if I was okay starting a bit early.  Anesthesiologist cones in, verifies my info and checks vitals (BP was surprising normal, as I have white coat syndrome big time).  Wheeled me back at 0800, appointment was for 0815.  Doc shows me the tools and explains the process.  Roll me up on my side.  Anesthesiologist says goodnight and pushes the plunger.  Prohypnol is no joke.  Gone in second.  Next thing I know, I'm back in the room, and they are waking me up.  Offer me a beverage.  Wife comes back.  Doc comes by, says they removed "a few" polyps, which is not at all unusual for a 54 year old.  Says they appeared fine, but will be biopsied to be sure, and he will call me next week.  We talk Army days for a but (he was an Army surgeon during Desert Shield/Storm).  Has me wait another 15 minutes (around 30 minutes post-op altogether.  Sends me on my way.  Convinced wife to stop at McDonalds for a pair of Bacon Egg and Cheese Biscuits and a large Coke.  Got home by 1000.  Took care of the dog, used the toilet, and laid down.  Slept for about 4 hours.

Prep was far worse than the procedure.  Tried to sleep, but was off to the toilet shooting liquid out of my ass every 30 minutes or so all night.  Glad I followed advice, hydrated like crazy yesterday, and did the pre-crap Aquaphor coating of the backside.  No diaper rash.

Altogether, the prep was not a pleasant experience, tge procedure was cake, and I'm good now.
No, I'm not mtnbkr.  ;)

Still need to crap in a bag and give to the doc.  If I can get a move on before youth symphony rehearsal that will be convenient.

Glad that it went well. Your experience sounds incredibly similar to mine on the precision, convery-belt like timing of it all.

The only problems I had were that I really racked my ankle/top of my foot somehow and it was incredibly painful the day of the procedure. I'm on the table on lying on my side, IV in, and the doctor comes in and gives me a reassuring slap... right on the most painful part of my foot. I just about went through the ceiling and scared the living hell out of him

I do distinctly remember saying "wow, this stuff is nice" when they hit the plunger...

Got out of the procedure. On the way out the door I snarfed a granola bar, which was mainly to protect my stomach against the 4 Aleve I downed for the ankle.

Of course they told me to eat several light meals, so on the way home Mtnbkr (he was my driver) and I went to the Greek diner near my house. Nothing I had, not even the coffee, would qualify as light... Huge portion of Moussaka and a big-assed salad.  :P

Went home, put on my CPAP, and went right to sleep for about 4 hours. When I woke up I felt incredible AND my ankle had pretty much stopped hurting.

On my last one, after they woke me up, they were cracking up and told me that I did the circus music tune on my way under.

I would edit to fix that, but it's better this way.  (I hate typing on my phone.)
