I got a call from an old family friend about 30 miles away asking if I would be home this afternoon. He wanted to come by and have me look at some archery stuff that belonged to his older brother. We were out of town but I offered to stop by his place on our way home.
He had a bunch of 1960s archery stuff that his brother shoved off on him and nobody knew anything about it or what to do with it.
A lot of it is junk you couldn’t sell for a dollar on a yard sale.
But I came home with 2 nice recurves, American Archery rosewood target bow 35# cheetah and a 45# hunter. Also an older longbow that needs some TLC but could be saved. They all need strings and some cosmetic work.
My wife is less than thrilled. She wants me to start getting rid of stuff but reluctantly agreed to let me order a crossbow for deer hunting just earlier today. (My compound hunting bow is getting harder to pull each year) That was just hours before I filled the backseat with old bows and accessories.
Downsizing is hard. Some days it just rains archery equipment, other days it’s tools or something else.
I did agree to sell the beast hot water pressure washer to finance the crossbow.
