My body chemistry EATS watches! Granted, it takes a few years of wear. It erodes the backs of them to where they are unwearable. I had a nice GUESS watch my wife gifted me that we tried to save with clear nail polish on the back to stop the erosion to no avail. Damn, I liked that watch. My father would kill any digital/electric watch he wore within a week. He usually wore mechanical self winding watches for most of his life.
