I grew some 7-pot yellow peppers this year. Only got a few pods off each pepper plant (all varieties) this year because of the awful weather and then early frost, but the few I got were beautiful. I was afraid of the 7-pot peppers. 😂 I finally got up the courage to taste one; I cut a small but not tiny sliver off the bottom and it wasn't hot at all. (I know this can be a trap) I cut another little piece off, closer to the stem but still not seeds or pith; it was very hot but not unbearable...
I made a little over a pint of hot sauce, using carrots and frozen mango for filler, with the rest of that one 7-pot pepper. The recipe I was kinda following called for 10 habanero peppers, seeds removed. One 7 pot pepper seeds and all was plenty hot. It actually tastes pretty good. Would probably be better with real habaneros because more of the pepper taste would come through instead of just heat.
