Wow. I just woke up, and it's around 0130. Not as in, waking up in the middle of the night because I can't fall asleep, I'm talking waking up as if it were morning. Probably has something to do with the fact that I went to bed at 1830 last night. That's not how it normally happens, but I generally sleep in intervals. 4 hours here... 2 hours here... 3 hours here. All because I love the night- I love staying up when no one else is. It's quiet and peaceful.

But damn, if my sleep schedule ain't f'ed up, I don't know what is.
Ahhh... I love summer.

Any other nightowls out here? Does your job/lifestyle allow you to?

Yes. It is now 0300 and I am still up. I am not a morning person, I'd rather sleep in late and stay up late. I use to work nights, but that isn't much fun after a while.

I used to be quite the night owl. Still would be, if not for a 15 month old daughter. I've been having a run of insomnia lately, due to the fact that, One, I'm a night owl by nature, and two, I have phsychotic neighbors. More on that later. Although, an ambulance pulled up next door about 10 minutes ago, so the problem may be a self correcting one.

Same here...I've been working nights for more than eight years. I cringe when I come out of my work center and the sun is up.

Night-shifter here too. Been working nights almost five years straight. Currently OIC while the boss is out of town requiring me to work days...........I hate it.

I spent whole years in my twenties and thirties never getting out of bed before noon. I now get up at 4:30 and 5:00 and 5:30. I have no idea what happened.

Sleep is very overrated. As you can see from my average post times here and on THR, most are between dawn and 0300 or so. I usually attempt to sleep starting at about 0300 local time until about 0600.  Anything else is not worth my efforts.  That's all I usually require. I also usually sleep sitting up, FWIW.

Sleep is a poor substitute for Caffiene! -Motto I devised as a college sophomore swimming 1-2 miles before an 8 am Hebrew class.

Currently working as a graveyard waiter, 2300-0600 six nights a week.  'Course, I got the job 'cause I was up and at the restaraunt every night anyway, working on novels on my laptop.

Also, wonderful perk that the drunks don't know how to react to a server they can't sexually harass and whom they're afraid to piss off.  Wink  Before I started we had to call the cops every other week or so.  Since starting I've had to call them 2x in two years.

OK! That's just wierd.

3 hours of sleep a day!? Ever think about turning your self into the science guys who study that kind of thing and giving them a crack at you. You're one in about 10,000,000 if you can actually maintain both your energy and sanity on just 3 hours of sleep a day.

Cheesy I *am* one of those science guys.

My grandfather was the same way; he required even less sleep as he aged; he lived to see 95 and was averaging about an hour and a half a night.

I'm a sun synchronous kinda guy. Whatever time the sun comes up, I'm bright-eyed and bushytailed. Not a big fan of getting up more than an hour before sunrise, but can't stay in bed more than an hour later either.

Edited to add: Yes, Alaska would cause my internal clock to explode.
