Top five bad*** presidents
« on: March 08, 2008, 06:55:23 PM »
This is awesome.  I'll link to #2, my favorite president and personal hero.  Of course, TR beats out Washington and everyone else in the bad***ery department.

"Plenty of people know George Washington as the father of our country, but few people know, (and this is, perhaps, more important), just how similar he was in behavior to the Incredible Hulk. Stay with us."

It gets funnier, but the really funny bits are not quotable on a family-friendly forum.

Forget Washington.....give me Jackson and Roosevelt any day.....

Jackson: where the newspaper headline read "President Nearly Kills Assassin"......

Roosevelt: Just 'cause.....
Impressed yet befogged, they grasped at his vivid leading phrases, seeing only their surface meaning, and missing the deeper current of his thought.

While campaigning for a third term, Roosevelt was shot by a madman and, instead of treating the wound, delivered his campaign speech with the bleeding, undressed bullet hole in his chest. On the other end of the spectrum, reasons why certain members of the Cracked Editorial Staff have called out of work over the last year include:

"A cold."
"A stubbed toe."
"It's raining."
"There's a spider near the door."

I have heard about him getting shot and then finishing the speech.  I doubt a President these days would get away with that as SS would tackle him and haul him off the hospital before he could "wait".

I don't think I ever learned what Benedict Arnold did until my college history class.  The high school class just covered the basics, but that was one big omission.

college history pretty much just spents the entire time debunking the myths feed to you in grade school. in fact i think the only useful think i learned in high school history was the 2 rules for taking over europe.

1.) you need a boat to get to england.
2.) do not, i repeat, do not invade russia in the winter.
