How quickly it fades...
« on: May 07, 2008, 01:02:28 PM »
Been out of town for a couple weeks and unable to keep up with my normal (fairly light) workout schedule. I went to my kempo class last night, had a nice moderate workout. It felt really good getting back into. Today my legs and shoulders are sore like I had climbed a mountain or had a marathon weight lifting session. It's amazing how fast your body loses stamina and flexibility when you don't stay constant. I'd hazard that lots of fast food and the case+ of beer I drank while out of town didn't help my stamina either.  grin

You were out of town a couple of weeks and a you drank was a case of beer?  The "+" on that case must've been some good stuff.   grin

Recently took a week off and then on the first session back squatted 10 sets of 5 with around an 80% weight. I knew it was a bad idea, but I tend to prefer just to jump straight back in and deal with some temporary soreness rather than spend sessions working back in. In this instance it was more temporary agony than soreness.

While back I had to take two weeks off due to illness, came back and was more sensible - did upper body only. Puked. Never puked before on a day I wasn't squatting, and that's extremely rare.

Generally after a short while off I retain strength sometimes even improve, but work capacity has plummeted.
I do not like, when with me play, and I think that you also

Naw, it was more like there wasn't anything really worth getting excited about at the Class Six. I'm kinda spoiled from living in the land of the micro-brew. :beersnob:  grin

Yeah, I forgot.  Wichita Falls, the land of Silver Bullets, Spuds MacKenzie, and Natty Light.
