Right; and like in this country, dot gov still makes a big deal out of controlling the rest of us "for our own safety". This proves that all of it is an oppressive cherade.

Mohammidy, 34, was one of nine Afghans who won the right to live in Britain after hijacking a passenger flight in Afghanistan in 2000. The Boeing 727 was flown to Stansted in Essex where the captors threatened to kill the 160 passengers unless they were granted asylum.

The gang was jailed but later released and given the right to remain in Britain rent-free, receiving £150,000 a year in benefits

i am gonna take up hijacking  but i don't wanna live in england  even for that much money
It is much more powerful to seek Truth for one's self.  Seeing and hearing that others seem to have found it can be a motivation.  With me, I was drawn because of much error and bad judgment on my part. Confronting one's own errors and bad judgment is a very life altering situation.  Confronting the errors and bad judgment of others is usually hypocrisy.

Maybe they will let me live in the place of my choice rent free and be paid almost $300,000 a year.
There are five things, above all else, that make life worth living: a good relationship with God, a good woman, good health, good friends, and a good cigar.

Only two defining forces have ever offered to die for you, Jesus Christ and the American Soldier.  One died for your soul, the other for your freedom.

I'm thinking (hoping?) that was for the whole gang, combined.

Which makes it only SLIGHTLY less bad, if true.  angry

apparently pensioning criminals isn't the answer

Hey, don't they say it is too expensive to jail all these criminals?  Just release them and give them a pension so they can live in happiness and never want for basic needs.  Then they will never commit a crime again and we will all live happily ever after.  After all, they are only committing crimes to feed their starving families right?   rolleyes rolleyes laugh laugh

This doesn't surprise me. They warned against apprehending Somali pirates, because they might be able to ask for asylum in the UK and be given the same deal.

Somali pirates would fit in sooooo well in London. I can just see them having lunch at the Harrods food court, holding the clerk hostage with a machete while they demand sandwiches. They might get an ASBO.

Ya know what, someone demands asylum in a situation like that? Act like you are granting it, then make 'em disappear later...

'sactly. Why the hell do they grant asylum to terrorists? Hell, just pretend to give them asylum, then send in the bloody SAS to catch them, chain them and then drop them off in their country of origin. See, it's not that hard, if you just get rid of all silly PC notions of terrorists deserving a fair treatment...

They say the mark of genius is to be able to hold two disparate thoughts in your mind at the same time.  This one sentence is the best test of that theory I've ever seen.

I failed.  I just can't see any way that would make sense to any sane person.

Terrorists do deserve a fair treatment.

Fair meaning, life in prison or execution after a speedy, fair, and public trial in which they're found guilty of their crimes, or, failing that, what we in the desert call a targeted prevention. I.E. an ATGM to the face.
