Chiwetel Ejiofor in "Inside Man"
« on: June 07, 2008, 09:23:22 PM »
It looks like Spike Lee has finally figured out how to make a decent movie.  Actually, a fantastic movie.  Anybody seen this?

If you haven't seen it, check it out.  It's about a bank robbery and hostage situation, but one that will keep you guessing.  Good story.  Good cast.

Mr. Ejiofor isn't in either of the leading roles, but he's in a prominent supporting role with lots of screen time.  If you like Denzel, you'll get a lot of him, along with Clive Owen, who also starred in Children of Men.  And who was in Children of Men?  Chewy!!  Also in this movie, Jodie Foster, Christopher Plummer, Willem Dafoe.

he was best in Serenity... but then we always have produced a higher standard of bad guy actors than anywhere else in the world

I agree with Agricola on all counts, except for Christopher Walken, the best bad guy ever.  Inside Man was great, especially the cast.  The Steve variations were a stroke of genius.  It reminded me of Quick Change (Bill Murray, Geena Davis, Randy Quaid, Jason Robards), which I had seen in the theater circa 1990 and enjoyed.  Went back and rented it for old times sake.  If you like Bill Murray in a comedy role, it isn't a bad little film.
If the bandersnatch seems even mildly frumious, best to shun it.  Really. http://www.cctplastics.com

Very much so.  But you all produce a high standard of actor, generally.

I saw Inside Man over a year ago, I think.  And yes, it was a really good, really clever movie.  The level of misdirection is fantastic:  you think you know what's going on, but the bad guys are always two steps ahead of you going in a different direction.  It's the kind of movie you want to see a second time to appreciate all the cleverness.

Thank you.  I was trying to describe the movie in a way that did it justice, but couldn't.
