The Moscow City Court reduced Phillip Miles' sentence to 10 months and ruled that he should be freed from custody without serving all of it. Miles, who has been in jail since Feb. 3, will likely be set free Tuesday after the completion of the necessary formalities, his lawyer said, and he will be allowed to leave Russia.

The court reduced the sentence to 10 months, and to be freed without serving all of it.  He ended up being in prison for 5 months.

Hmm...  I need to find the original thread and see what my prediction was...

edit:  Found original thread

Huh 'time served and leave the country'...  No mention in the article of whether he's being kicked out of the country.

It was a pretty dumb thing to do.
Personally, I do not understand how a bunch of people demanding a bigger govt can call themselves anarchist.
I meet lots of folks like this, claim to be anarchist but really they're just liberals with pierced genitals. - gunsmith

I already have canned butter, buying more. Canned blueberries, some pancake making dry goods and the end of the world is gonna be delicious.  -French G

After 5 months in a Russian prison I hope he isn't bringing home any superbugs.

Sure there is ... you just have to learn to read diplomatic double-speak: "... and he will be allowed to leave Russia."

Freedom is a heavy load, a great and strange burden for the spirit to undertake. It is not easy. It is not a gift given, but a choice made, and the choice may be a hard one. The road goes upward toward the light; but the laden traveller may never reach the end of it.  - Ursula Le Guin
