This ever happen to you?

I just got a new (15 year old) Joan Jett album and found this bubblegum beauty on there - never knew the song existed but now it's stuck in my head and won't go away.

Make Believe
By: Wind
(Joey Levine/Bo Gentry)
1969

Everybody knows it's true.
I'm in love,
But its only make believe to you.

I love your love,
All the things that lovers do now, baby
I can tell
That its only make believe to you.

I said-a ah, ah, ah, ah, ah,

Its only make believe to you, girl
Its only make believe, youre driving me insane
Its only make believe to you, girl
Baby, baby, baby, baby, I cant stand the pain

I kiss, you kiss
But I ain't getting through.
No I don't
´Cause it's only make believe to you

I cry, oh my,
But you ain't crying too now baby
No you don't
´Cause it's only make believe to you

I said-a ah, ah, ah, ah, ah

It's only make believe to you, girl
It's only make believe, you're driving me insane
It's only make believe to you, girl
Baby, baby, baby, baby, I can't take the pain
Yizkor. Lo Od Pa'am

"You can have my gun when you pry it from my cold dead fingers"

"Never again"

"Malone Labe"

Felonious Monk/Fignozzle

I've always been moved by the insightful and inspiring lyrics crafted by Ian Dury.

HIT ME WITH YOUR RHYTHM STICK - 01/27/1979
1 week at #1 - 15 weeks on chart
Ian Dury and the Blockheads

In the deserts of Sudan
And the gardens of Japan
From Milan to Yukatan
Every womans, every man

Hit me with your rhythm stick
Hit me, hit me
Je t'adore, ich leibe dich
Hit me, hit me, hit me
Hit me with your rhythm stick
Hit me slowly, hit me quick
Hit me, hit me, hit me

In the wilds of Borneo
And the vineyards of Bordeaux
Eskimo, Arapaho
Move their body to and fro

Hit me with your rhythm stick
Hit me, hit me
Das ist gute, ce fantastique
Hit me, hit me, hit me
Hit me with your rhythm stick
It's nice to be a lunatic
Hit me, hit me, hit me

Hit me, hit me, hit

In the dock of Tiger Bay
On the road to Mandalay
From Bombay to Santa Fey
Over hills and far away

Hit me with your rhythm stick
Hit me, hit me
c'est ce bon, mm? Ist es nicht
Hit me, hit me, hit me
Hit me with your rhythm stick
Two fat persons, click click click
Hit me, hit me, hit me

Hit me, hit me, hit me
Hit me, hit me, hit me
Hit me, hit me
Hit me, hit me, hit me
Hit me, hit me, hit me
Hit me, hit me
Hit me, hit me, hit me

Lotsa good tunes out there, this one popped in my head after reading the Joan Jett above

http://www.mathematik.uni-ulm.de/paul/lyrics/searchers/needle~1.html

Preferably by The Ramones

P.S.
Am I the only guy that thinks a song sounds better when you hear it out of the blue on the radio vs. playing it off a CD?

Oh, Fig, I am such a sucker for Ian Dury.

Well, and the Ramones and Joan Jett (mostly with the Runaways).

Such good taste this board has.

Of late I have  been reminded of where some of what I call my  "Classic Tunes" originated.

Jake Elwood and the Blues Hour comes on and I hear Robert Johnson, Buddy Guy, Bobby Blue Bland, BB King...and  many others whom names escape me now, and these songs are later performed by The Rolling Stones, Eric Clapton, Allman Bros,...

I listen to various genre, Rock and Roll, Blues, Jazz, Country - still I get a kick out of hearing the orginal artist do their works, and then hearing the various newer artists if you will do the song.

Right now the song in my head is "Whipping Post" by the Allman Bros.

Must be the assignments I am trying to do , having already taken three exams this Sunday and have more stuff due by 9AM Monday ...anyway, racking my brain as to whom did "Whipping Post". originally.

I think Pink Floyd wrote "Comfortably Numb" ...I'm feeling tied  to the Laptop - but I cannot feel a thing. ;P
