From the Australian Broadcasting Corporation...


"A Bendigo man is in a critical condition with burns to 80 per cent of his body.

Police say the 49-year-old man received the burns when he fell into an open fireplace in a hotel beer garden at Kangaroo Flat, in central Victoria, just before 7:00pm AEST.

He is being flown to Melbourne 's Alfred Hospital."


Makes AJ Dual's klutziness pale in comparison...

I don't know what the half-life metabolization rate, or excretion rate of Diladued (sp?) and 5mg of Vallium is, but it was 12 hours later when I fell over in the shower, and Mrs. Dual hadn't filled my Rx's yet, so it's pretty safe to say I was drug free at the time it happened. So if I was 'sober' does that make it worse?

But I would not trade burns for my concussion or thrown back any day of the week, that's for sure.  sad

And (sigh), it's rough being married to a woman who does not have adequate popular culture context to crack jokes with. When my eyes were at their worst, I (slowly) cast about blindly, screaming in my best/worst New Yawk accent, "Adriuuuunn!... Adriuuuunnn! Where's Adriuuunn!"

She didn't get it.
