Watching America
« on: March 03, 2005, 10:18:52 PM »
I think some here are surprised or ignorant about what world newspapers say about America. Or specifically how often these foreign papers swallow hook, line, and sinker the press releases of the democratic party. To a certain extent who cares what these guys say about our political decisions, but it does make for interesting reading.
The funniest by far is the Russian papers. It is so obvious that the majority of those papers carry the party line its funny, then sad, then scary.

This website provides English translations of these newspapers and tv spots when they talk about the US. The site is a great resource, just don't lose perspective on the fact that foreign news isn't 24/7 about the US; and that they are reporting about something they mostly don't understand or have direct experience with. So don't get too upset about some of the stupid thing people say.

This should be a good resource for those who have a passing interest in international politics and news.

Enjoy...
I’m not saying I invented the turtleneck. But I was the first person to realize its potential as a tactical garment. The tactical turtleneck! The… tactleneck!

Yeah. Right.

Millions upon millions of people are trying to sneak into Russia and Mexico and Venezuela.

Personally, I appreciate the way Europe saved America not once, but twice in the twentieth century, and still sends its soldiers and spends billions of dollars annually to protect us.

When I care to listen to the snide remarks of talking cockroaches, I'll run up a white flag.

I recall reading an article about how Putin was taking over media outlets in Russia circa 2004/2005?  Perhaps this is why they are laughable.
