No, I imagine there are circumstances in which someone might need a large capacity magazine.

Not that magazines and ammo capacity have anything to do with student bookbags...

I never carried any more than 2 textbooks at a time in High School.  We had these nifty contraptions called "lockers" that would allow you to stow your unused books on a "shelf" until you needed them.  Of course, I never studied, and I did my homework in class, so...

I wouldn't begrudge someone using wheels, though.  That's just smart.  Assuming, of course, it's for some reason necessary to carry eight books with you at all times.

If my kid ever asks for a backpack with wheels, I'll say, "Hell no!  You carry six books under each arm like a good citizen!"

With a few rare exceptions, I highly doubt that anyone truly needs them.

A ninety-pound kid carrying OVER A THIRD OF HIS BODYWEIGHT back and forth across his school, and between home and school EVERY DAY, wouldn't benefit from being able to pull that weight on wheels instead of lifting it and strapping it to his back eight or nine times a day?

Fine.  You make that choice for YOUR kids.

Me, I'm just glad this year's teachers seem more reasonable.
