British Police very...polite?
« on: September 17, 2008, 06:21:52 PM »
After watching a beautiful video of a chav getting his leg stuck in a wall, I was clicking around, watching videos, and I came across some videos that are like a British "Cops" type show.

Anyway, watch these two videos.  One has a hostile youth shouting and waving a bar around and the police act like it's nothing.  In the other, the policeman seems to be afraid of the guy he's supposed to be arresting, and pleads with him, then shouting for help from store employees.  Can any brits here tell me if this is at all representative of the police there?  Because I grew up watching Cops, and know several policemen, and if what I've seen is at all accurate this would not go down like this in the U.S.:

(NSFW language in both.)

I obviously don't agree with all UK laws, and the way they freak out about the multitool in the first vid is pretty depressing, but I find it odd that a place with such restrictive laws would have such...uhh...patient police.

Is there a British equivalent to Cops?  It would make for interesting watching, methinks.
