He did it yesterday afternoon; flew across the Channel in his four turbine engine-powered wing.  Looks like fun to me.

His rig reminded me of this old G.I.Joe toy  http://www.yojoe.com/vehicles/84/claw/

In any case I suspect a few discrete inquiries will be made by certain alphbet agencies.
"Men, it has been well said, think in herds. It will be seen that they go mad in herds, while they only recover their senses slowly, and one by one."
- Charles Mackay, Scottish journalist, circa 1841

"Our society is run by insane people for insane objectives. I think we're being run by maniacs for maniacal ends and I think I'm liable to be put away as insane for expressing that. That's what's insane about it." - John Lennon

He started at altitude, which leaves me to believe the jets don't provide enough impulse. Lack of fuel, or maybe size constraints?

Totally cool, though. Would like to see how far this tech goes.

Even so, it might be valuable to airborne operations if they could drop the guys miles away and have them fly to the landing zone.  I guess they still have to land with a parachute though.

Here's his first flight from 2004 near Geneva, Switzerland, with a camera mounted on his wing. Wow, I bet he feels just like Superman!  laugh

Here's his web page: http://jet-man.com/prod/index_en.html

Wikipedia says he has made over 30 flights.

Moby - Natural Blues aka Troubles so Hard http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ivtKcM1DGeY

Quote
"Natural Blues" is a 2000 single by the musician Moby. It was originally released in 1999 in his album Play. It is essentially a retitled remix of the originally a cappella song "Trouble So Hard" by American folk singer Vera Hall and her cousin Dock Reed. "Trouble So Hard" can be found on Alan Lomax's "Sounds of the South: A Musical Journey From the Georgia Sea Islands to the Mississippi Delta" disc 1, track 8. It was first released in the UK, where it peaked at number eleven.

That's not really a jetpack. This is a real jetpack:

The closest thing we have to the Bond jetpack are the "rocket belts":

There's already a finished product called the Grphon Flying Wing:
